Late-night car rides and poopy overalls

Over the last week Chance has been getting pretty wound up in the evenings. For the last 2 nights in a row we have taken him out in the car for a ride to help settle him. I had a doctor's appointment with him today and the advice given was to STOP IT NOW. The doctor said that if babies get used to only 1 way of getting settled, you'll be doing it until they are 1 or 2 years old!

We've been advised to put him down while he is awake and let him put himself to bed at this point. Next time we are at the store, I think we better get some earplugs.

His weight gain has been absolutely phenomenal, and now we have a 10-lb plus baby on our hands! Chance was wiggling on the scale so it was hard to tell his exact weight - it was somewhere between 10 lbs 4 oz and 10 lbs 8 oz.

He is developing quickly, and definitely knows who his mommy and daddy are. He's also "standing" for longer periods and turning his head to see things if I turn him away while walking. Gramma Jo said she made him smile when I was in the shower the other day, so will have to keep an eye out for a chubby grin.

I was going to take some cute photos of Chance today in his snazzy red overalls and fancy button up shirt with a little collar (his first time all dressed up), however he SOILED himself real good this afternoon. Hopefully it all comes out in the wash!
