This showed up on Chance's foot mabye 3 weeks ago. Started out as pin-prick like rash maybe 20-30 spots and has morphed out to this blobby thing. Doctor said it didn't look contagious, and it really hasn't spread out that much either, but a small patch of it has cropped up on his bum cheek. Ranges in colour daily from barely pink to deep purple. Cortisone cream (ratio-ectosone/betamethasone nor emo-cortisone) doesn't cut it and neither does the other stuff we got, Protopic (tacrolimus ointment). Chance says it "hurts" every now and then and I see him rubbing/scratching it occasionally, but it doesn't seem to be crazy itchy. Will go see the doctor again Feb. 18th.

We watched the YOU TUBE video of Chance "reading" the car book. Wow, we are impressed, he really knows them all!
Hope that rash is going away soon before he starts scratching too much.

5th disease? It is going around Noah's school. They start out with cold like symptoms and then get a rash that is unexplained. Usually it appears on their chest/back though.
I have the exact same rash and have had it for 8 months now. I tried EVERYTHING (including Windex lol)but now for the last 4 days I have been applying a hot Green Tea bag to it once a day and finally it seems to be improving albeit very slowly. Tomorrow I plan to soak a pad in the Green Tea and attach it with a bandage. I also wash it daily with Palmolive antibacterial soap which had stopped its spreading. Nothing at all had worked till this. Good luck.
Dear Anonymous - have you tried Protopic? It cleared up this rash immediately. Good luck!
