Crib Shots

Last few weeks I seem to have taken quite a few photos of Karin in her crib / sleeping.

Sleeping in my bed...she woke up EARLY, didn't want to sleep in her own crib, so I brought her into our bed when Cam's alarm clock went off. She farted around with him for a few minutes and was asleep before he got out of the shower.

Sweet dreams!

Look at her stretch that little neck!

I find her this way most mornings....legs pulled out of her jammies and curled up like a little ball. Sometimes she manages to pop her legs right out of the snapped jammies.

Up frequently

Karin was up twice last night, very unusual for her. The wind is just howling, currently reads at 50 km/hour from the north, but it seemed even louder last night. I wonder if that had anything to do with it. At 2 AM (totally unusual time) she wasn't really hungry, but WIDE awake. I put her back in the crib, put her mobile on and left, never heard her cry if she did. At 4:30 she fed OK, was back in bed at 5 but started screaming (totally unusual for her), so went back and nursed again til 5:30, then put her back in crib, she woke up but settled down quickly. I could hear her sucking her thumb through the door.

Sleeping hard

This is how Karin sleeps most of the time - arms stretched right over her head. "I can fly!"

8:45 - 11:25 AM work....all kinds!
11:30 AM chiropractor appointment. My neck injury from March came back in mid-December randomly.
12:00 PM Back to office, eat, nap on floor if tired
12:30 PM Back to work! Work, work, work!

7:00 PM bath time
7:20 PM watch TV and snuggle on the couch.
7:45 PM read a story & tuck Chance in for bed
8:00 PM relax!!!
9:30 PM bedtime & start it all over again!

Have seen the chiropractor 3x this week. I got an x-ray taken in December after my neck started hurting again and could not believe the image the doctor showed me -- to put it in her words, my neck was "smashed and re-stacked". Everytime I think of that fall I took I just shudder and thank my lucky stars that it wasn't worse.

I got a headset at work to use while on the phone -- I would guess I spend between 2 an 4 hours a day on that phone, usually with it tucked into the crook of my neck. This is not helping the neck situation! So my lovely admin assistant bought me a headset to use and I love it.

Cam is curling tonight and Chance is in bed, he was really tired tonight and quite grumpy AND accident prone. I think he gets that from me. He was playing with a toy and then for some reason lifted it above his face, looked up and then dropped the toy, cut his lip a little. Then later he was wobbly-walking around and bumped into the couch, it just sent him into hysterics, my guess is that he maybe bit his lip again. Fed him supper, leftover night so he just picked at things a bit although ate all his carrots and dip and 2 glasses of milk. He had a 30 second bath as he was screaming mad about being in the tub and then laid on the couch and watched Cars. I think that is 40,067th time. Read a new book "The Paper Bag Princess" and "Pirates" then lights out. He got up out of bed and banged on the door, had to turn him around and re-tuck him in, then he cried for 2 minutes and all has been quiet since.

Dragon's Den Soother Tip

I just about jumped out of my seat watching Dragon's Den when an entrepreneur came on the show soliciting this product. Now, at $30, it's too much for me to consider buying, especially since Chance will in all likelihood be moving away from his soother habit sooner than later (I swear, if a tonight is like the last two nights I'm going to personally dismantle every soother he's got as I don't know if I can keep waking up in the night to him screaming blue murder for the return of the thing!). But, I will consider tying/sewing his soother to a stuffed animal to keep him from accidentally dropping it through the bars in his crib. Will keep you posted.

Must.....sleep....

Awwww...

Pictures coming later!

Wow, what a busy weekend! While it wasn't hot out like the May Long weekend (30°C), it wasn't pouring rain like last weekend either. Instead we had off and on showers throughout the afternoons, but AM's were good and I even got to dry the laundry on my clothesline, everything smells so good!

We started out on Saturday AM with Cam making muffins for Chance and then going to Home Depot. There, Cam bought a garden shed, and Chance and I stayed in the garden section and bought annuals - wave petunias*, impatiens, pansies, fucias, sweet williams, flowering portulacca, some ivy, there's more, I'm just not sure right now what it was...budget was $50 and spent $70, but that also included a huge bale of peat moss and some potting soil and a bag of basket moisture retainer (helps out to prevent dehydration.)

Chance was great during this shopping trip, I ran out of room in the cart for flowers and had to put some into the upper basket with him, he did not rip out a single leaf or flower. Just touched gently. He also got !! very !! excited when we passed the display of garden fountains. We stopped and he got out and splashed around a bit.

We did not get potatoes at Home Depot. They were out.

We went home, had lunch, and put Chance down for a nap. Cam went right back to Home Depot for a rototiller and potatoes at Canadian Tire, along with some other stuff. He came back with the tiller but was disappointed with the rest of his shopping list. No potatoes. This was a problem, as 60% of our garden is potatoes.

While he was gone, I got down to it mixing soil, filling pots, and planted them. Chance's wagon came in really handy, Grandma and Grandpa Demmans! I planted about 12 pots, whew! Just then Cam came back and we tilled the garden, mixing in the peat and our compost that we made over the course of the winter. The soil looks as best as it ever has! I am really enthusiastic that we will get a better garden out of the extra TLC (tiller, compost, etc.).

Now the garden was planted, but we had only seeds left from last year, and no potato seeds! When Chance woke up we went to the Superstore garden centre and found a few boxes of white potato seeds left. Grabbed those and went home, Chance helped plant the garden for a while and then was content with playing with a couple of onion seeds (the onion set type), chucking them around the garden, loading up his dumptruck with them, etc. Last I saw they were in his sand box....

That was about it for Saturday...sounds busy right?? We ate Chance's favorite meal for dinner - smokies for Mom and Dad, hot dog for him. He can clearly say "hot dog"!! Cam cooked, Chance and I set the patio table outside, it was nice.

Sunday AM we started out by declining a bike ride with friends so that we could get our garden shed constructed. But the first thing we realized we needed was 2X4's for the base. Was hoping to use the leftover 4X6's from the gate construction a few weeks ago but it turned out they were a foot too short! Whoops! Cam took Chance to the closest hardware store, called Totem, and I got the laundry hung up, and was supposed to read the garden shed instructions, but only got to page 2 and then my sister called to confirm our camping site for August long.

Cam and Chance got back, and we got down to it measuring and cutting, and within 10 minutes realized we were ONE 2x4 short. Both Cam and I were kicking ourselves because independently we had thought...."geez, they're only a few bucks, maybe it's worth grabbing an extra one..."! Hindsight is 20-20.

So Cam went back to the store, Chance and I made lunch (he snacked and I made) and then we returned to work 30 minutes later. We worked for about 2 minutes more and then realized that we were getting NOWHERE with Chance -- he wanted into everything!! So we packed up and got groceries, came back and enjoyed lunch, fired Chance off to bed and THEN got to work!

Then the drill ran out of juice. AAAH! We got 90% of the work done and then the battery on the cordless drill ran out. So we put the drill on it's charger and started counting pieces. A few times we thought we were short on shed pieces, giving both of us cold sweats/heart palpatations!! Turned out all OK.

The instructions said the shed takes 1.5 hours max to build, for one person.

We started at 1:30, and still needed to finish some stuff at 4:30 when Chance finally woke up. Usually we like to wake him up by 4:00 but we LET HIM GO yesterday.

So, cleaned up and a good thing too because it started to rain.

Frantically got dinner together while our friends Lynne and Matt were entertained/horrified by our toddler-dodging antics in the kitchen. Burgers, salad, bean salad, etc. was dinner along with some jello for dessert, very gourmet.

Chance ate his weight in bread and burgers and then only ate the whipped cream and berries off his jello. After attempting to steal berries from everyone's jello, he left. He was successful with Mommy's and Daddy's berries. He curled up with Matt on the couch to read a book while we cleaned up. Poor Matt didn't say anything but it was obvious when we finally sat down with them that Chance had pooped. I'm sure they can't wait to have kids.

Chance went to bed, we finished the door on the shed, folded laundry and watched a movie before bed. Was a good, but busy weekend. It should be noted that we did not start any of our days before 8:45 AM, thanks to a strangely sleepy child this weekend. Got so much sleep that I almost felt like I was on a holiday again, you know, except for the garden and shed-construction extravaganza....

* Wave petunias are a story for another blog entry.

What's New?

Wow, I can't believe a whole week has gone by since I posted here last!

Chance came down with a little cold mid-last week, and that is mostly cleared up now except we still have the humidifier on at night for him. A little extra moisture is probably good anyways, as the average winter time humidity in Calgary is around 20-30% or so. My eczema always gets worse in the winter because of that reason.

Other than the cold, Chance has been doing very well. No sign of ear infection yet. I'm still waiting.

The printer has been running for about 15 minutes now at least, I'm finally printing out my tax forms, yes it's that time of year again. I just hope I can manage to find all my papers, as things have been a bit scattered this year. I know I am missing at least a couple of childcare receipts, not a big deal, more irritating than a real tax issue.

There were a few more words picked up over the weekend in this house:

Shovel
Yellow (lellow)
Yes. Yes-yes-yes-yes-yes-yes-yes!
Moo
Broom

Also, Chance displayed an understanding of what we are saying that just floored me. I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth and Chance came ripping in with a wild and crazy look on his face. I laughed at him and then noticed his socks were missing, so I asked, "Where's your socks, silly boy??". Chance did a 180° turn and ran out of the bathroom, only to return a few seconds later holding out both socks. My jaw just about hit the floor!

We watched a movie called Atonement over the weekend, it was a great movie. Perfect, actually for Cam and I -- romance for my movie tastes and history/war for Cam's. Thoroughly enjoyed it, until the very end, with the hero/heroine dancing in the surf and all of a sudden the music cut out and there was Cam, FAST-FORWARDING through the mushy stuff. I was not impressed!

Spent Sunday AM at the pool with Chance, he played catch with another little boy about his age for a few minutes. Also he finally decided to take the plunge (literally) and used the pool slide. I did 16 laps, but my knee started to give me grief so stopped, just went in and took a long warm shower with Chance in the locker room instead of our usual dip in the hot tub due to repairs. Sunday afternoon made 3 kinds of cookies: peanut butter (Cam's request), oatmeal-chocolate chip (my choice), and monkey cookies (guess who??). The monkey cookies are very soft, Chance loves them as a nice way of finishing his supper.

I can't take credit for the recipe, I remember reading about monkey cookies when I was researching how to make homemade baby food. Googled for it and found this version at http://www.goodegg.com/recipe/monkeycookie.html

Banana "Monkey" Cookies

2 1/4 cups all purplose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt1 cup sugar
2/3 cup butter (softened)
2 eggs, beaten
2 bananas, mashed (ripe)
1 teaspoon vanilla

Combine flour, baking powder, salt and sugar in a large bowl. Mix well. Add butter. Mix well again. Add remaining ingredients, mix again. Place a teaspoon sized balls of the dough on a cookie sheet. Bake in a preheated 400 degree F oven for 12 minutes. Makes approx. 3 doz cookies.

I'm looking forward to our annual May visit to Regina, only 4 weeks away now. We head down every year to attend the Ken Goff Memorial put on by Cam's old boxing club. This year my sister & brother in law will be joining us, so it will be a fun evening. Also we are working out a camping weekend in the summer, looking forward to that as well.

Well, Cam has just informed me that my bubble bath is ready. OK, he's not the best guy to watch mushy romance movies with...but he spoils me rotten, I guess I'll keep him for now.

In closing, here is a photo from a week ago or so...we had to wake Chance up from one of his naps otherwise he would have slept through supper time. I always love how he looks when he sleeps.

Fairmont Lake Louise Christmas Weekend

In one word: "greatbutexhausting!"

We arrived at noon on Saturday and had our packed lunch in the lobby as our room was not available yet. Check in was 4 PM, but we were able to get into our room around 1 PM, which was very nice. We got changed and went out for a walk and some toboggan rides down the hill. Chance saw his first horse-drawn sleigh ride!

After our walk we returned back to the hotel and had hot chocolate and asked if they had any cookies. They said no, but they got someone to find some from somewhere in the hotel and then refused to let us pay for them. It's all part and parcel when you have the cutest baby in the world, or at least that's what it seemed like! Everyone was oooohing and aaaahing over Chance's red hair and little curls and how he loved to toddle around the lobby and yank on the Christmas tree decorations, etc.

We attended the dinner and dance in the evening, while Chance stayed with a babysitter. We returned around midnight and we fell asleep by 12:15.

****

1:22 AM: Chance started to cry and would not settle down. We tried cuddling him into our bed. No. We tried singing. No. We tried walking and rocking. No. Water? No! Finally, after about an hour and a half, I gave him a shot of tylenol and tried the water again. He drank half the sippy cup and then belched. I put him in his crib and put a pillow over my head. 5 minutes later he was out like a light. Some other parents were having waking-baby issues too, we could hear them walking up and down the hallway with their little bundle.

7:20 AM: Time to get up, Chance said! After I served Chance a breakfast parfait of banana bread and banana slices (forgot to bring a food dish, silly Mommy!), I took him to the pool and swam for 45 minutes while Cam got a few more winks.

10:00 AM: We were all packed up and ready to go and had a buffet breakfast in the beautiful dining room overlooking Lake Louise. We shared an omelette and Chance had grapes and cheese too.

11:00 AM: We departed Lake Louise and were home by 1:30.

After unpacking Cam took care of Chance while I napped for 40 mins, then we switched off and Cam took his turn grabbing an afternoon nap. I put Chance down for his nap and then woke up Cam. We were pretty lazy today, just watched Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer on television and ate a light supper as we are all feeling a bit bloated after two large meals.

The house is quiet...

We laid Chance down for a nap at 2:30...he played in his crib instead. Cam and I laid down too, Cam was snoring instantaneously, I read. Chance settled down at 3:05. I went to sleep then, and woke up at 4. Cam is still sleeping.

First Visit to Day Home

Chance will spend his first day at the day home with Mrs. G on September 21. And then again on the following Monday, September 24. Then we are gone on vacation and Mrs. G is closed until I go back to work, so those are the only 2 practice days we're going to do. I called today to make the arrangements and make final checks about what to bring etc. I started crying during this conversation, but I don't think Mrs. G knew, or at least if she did know, she didn't make any fuss about it.

Well my little monkey has been fed his afternoon snack of formula and arrowroot cookies & is currently humming away in his crib, it should be a few minutes before I can sneak into his room to cover him up with a blanket.

Early bird gets the....French toast?

Ugh. 5:30 AM wake up call this morning. Chance was wiiiiiiide awake. I tried to nurse him in the big bed to settle him down, but after he was finished, he sat up and tried to crawl away. So, on came the lights (it was still #%%##@ dark outside for cryin' out loud!), and started stripping the bed. Laundry day. In went a load of towels and sheets and Chance and I had a bath together. Then we put new sheets on the bed and as I reached down to grab the last pillow case, I sniffed. Sniffed again. Groaned. Went off to change a diaper. All before 6:30 AM.

Breakfast was French toast, and I did up a 1/2 batch of pancakes and froze the works for Chance's breakfasts for the next few weeks. 3 pancakes should last him for about 5 or 6 meals. That boy LOVES pancakes.

We pick up Cam at the airport at 3:00 ish, so hopefully Chance will catch a few winks in the car on the way there or on the way home. I'm surprised he's not having a meltdown right now, actually, given that he was up so early.

Weekend Without Daddy

div>So far the weekend without Daddy has gone smoothly. I am getting a first-hand reminder of all the things Cam does around the house on weekends/evenings!

1. Dishes and Post-Supper cleanup
2. Diaper changes
3. Piggy back rides to the park
4. Company for Mommy*
5. Bathtime wash up and puppetry
5. PJ duty at bedtime
6. Trash out to the garage
7. Spanking the cat while Mommy comforts Chance following a feline vs. baby cage match**
8. Running bubble baths for Mommy after Chance goes to bed
9. Poking Mommy at 10:30 to tell her to go to bed
10. Making coffee in the morning
11. And many many more things...!

* Very important. Mom got so bored this morning during Chance's nap that she actually answered the door when a couple of Jehovah's Witnesses came by to drop off their magazines. Pretty sure she'll be cursing herself for the next 7 Saturdays when they "pop by" to see how all is going with our spiritual lives...

** The cat has been very good. Chance has been very good. So far. But there have been some close calls. Some pulled whiskers and a scratched nose is probably just around the bend, though.

Friday morning: do you think he's tired??

And some new items on the menu: Chance is in LOVE with raisins. Silly Mommy, thought since he was enjoying them so much, might as well give him more. Hah, let's just leave it at about 5 dirrrty diapers in a 24 hour period. If Chance as much as sneezed, he was crapping raisins.

Also have been introducing the boy to cutlery. After about 4 attempts with the fork, Chance flings it and gets both hands dug into his food. He's trying. Mom's cleaning the floor. Often.

On the Move: Chance loves to walk. Preferably with something hard and plastic in his mouth. Removal of said item will cause temper tantrums and back arching. Lovely.

Busy Saturday

We decided to hit the farmer's market this morning but ran into road construction along the way, so doubled back and found a more direct, more scenic route to Millarville. When we arrived, we noticed signs claiming that this weekend instead of $2 per car for parking, we would pay $5 per person, for the centennial market and fair! We saw some cars doubling back at that point, and this is after they spent 20 minutes or more waiting on the highway! How disappointing for them (but to be fair, there were lots of people in the cars, so it would have been $25 just to get in, maybe that was their whole veggie budget!)

We decided to go anyways, and we bought lots of things at the farmer's market: peaches (some bigger than Cam's fist), sugar plums (bright yellow and delicious), cucumbers, dill (an entire grocery bag stuffed full for $1), a zucchini that was too large to carry or fit into the stroller pack, so we tucked it in next to Chance, something called a buttercup squash, baklava (an evening treat to enjoy after Chance goes to sleep), 2 pans of cabbage rolls and fresh perogies!

After the farmer's market we examined some of the fair exhibits, including messenger pigeons, chickens (one of them was so fluffy it looked like a cat!), ducks, an ugly turkey (it gobbled at Chance and startled him, but then he laughed), rabbits, kids' science projects, etc.! We even saw a rooster crowing contest! Chance had some people laughing pretty hard at his "dancing" to the old-time country songs (banjo and fiddle kind of stuff, mountain music).

Of course I forgot to bring my camera. Actually, I chose not to bring my camera. We were only planning on being there for 30 minutes or so, just to pick up some fresh veggies and fruits, and instead spent the entire morning. I am just so thankful that Chance didn't poop his diaper as I didn't have an extra one or changing kit with me!

All of this activity left Chance wound up and not only did he not nap in the morning, he didn't nap in the afternoon as well! Around 5 he was quite irritable, and by 5:30 he was passed out in my arms. I just sat on the couch and watched television for half an hour before supper just to get him through the day. Supper went over quite well and he spent 30 minutes walking (yes, walking!) around the kitchen with a pair of salad tongs. We went to the park and then plopped him into the tub & he was soon asleep in his crib after that.

Morning Report

Naps? We don't need no stinkin' NAPS!

The beginning of self-weaning?

Chance would not nurse this morning. In fact, he would not even wake up, what a sleepyhead (I have been waking him at 7 if he is not up yet as I don't want to encourage late sleep-ins because it will be rough on him then when it comes to go to the day home in just a few months). He slept through the night again, what a relief too!

Once he got the dazed look off of his face I offered him a boob and he just kind of played with it and then started babbling away. He didn't outright refuse (scream, cry, spit), but he sure wasn't interested in nursing!

We have 2 more teeth coming in very soon, I'm sure. Chance's poor gums look stretched to the limit, but all in all he's been very cheerful.

Growing up fast!

Chance has started to eat “proper” food and I am lucky if I manage to spoon-feed him a few mouthfuls. He is adamant that he does the feeding himself, and despite the messy repercussions, he manages to get most of it in his mouth. The remainder is left smeared on his highchair tray, on the floor, etc. Napping is much better these days and he will take 2 naps per day, each about an hour and a half long. He is also sleeping through the night now. He goes to bed at 8 PM and does not get up until 6 to 7:30. Sometimes he wakes up around 5 and I will open his door a crack and chuck a few pacifiers into the crib, he manages to get one in his mouth and dozes off for another hour or two.

Well the hot weather seems to have moved in for the summer and the forecast is for 32° by the end of the week. We have an inflatable pool set up for Chance in the back yard, each morning I put fresh water in it so that it is nice and warm by the time the afternoon hits. We use the old pool water to water the lawn and garden and flowers in the evening so it does not go to waste.

Back from Vacation

We arrived back from our vacation in Northern Saskatchewan yesterday afternoon after 7.5 hours in the truck traveling from Grandma and Grandpa Demmans' farm in Meadow Lake.

The trip up went exceedingly smooth, Chance went to sleep right away in his car seat and we clocked 285 km he woke up. We drove a bit further while he played with his toys and then stopped in the park in Viking, Alberta, which is right next to the railway tracks and Chance got to see his first freight train up close and personal! He just stared at the train cars rushing by and hung on tight while I held him.

After all the crawling around in the park and a big lunch, Chance soon went back to sleep and we drove another 280 km before stopping at the North Saskatchewan river.

The last leg of the trip was a bit harder, everyone was tired of being in the truck but we arrived around 4 PM and soon we all happier with Grandma and Grandpa. Chance was so happy crawling around on their big lawn.

We stayed at the farm on Saturday night too and were off for Missinipe on Sunday. We left early in the morning and took a gravel road to La Ronge, where we stopped for a short visit with Cam's grandma and Auntie Juanita and cousin Tanika. Chance and Dani stayed at the house while Cam picked up some groceries and then we continued north for about an hour to Missinipe, arriving around 4 PM.

The cabin had a hot tub which wasn't very hot so Chance could take a dip in the evening. He really enjoyed the warm water.

Fishing from the dock proved successful and Dani landed a pickeral (about 1.5-2 lbs) and a 1-lb perch, delicious for supper the next night! We had some rain, but went into La Ronge for a better visit with family and were treated to a fish supper. We also visited Robertson's Trading Post, the very same that Chance is named for. Chance came away from La Ronge with a new toy from his cousin Tanika, a rider-car (which is actually a zamboni, Tanika told me). It has a horn that beeps and he loves it, along with the other attachments.

On Wednesday Cam told me that I needed to get down to the plane launch as soon as possible as he had arranged for me to hitch a ride on a flight to pick up 2 fly-in fishermen with Osprey Wings, the local float plane carrier. He had said that he wanted to make sure that I had some alone-time while we were on vacation, but I didn't expect this!

On Thursday we went for a hike along one of the prospector trails that had been cut by Cam's ex-employer, Golden Band Resources. We stopped halfway for a fire and lunch.

Chance didn't have one incident while we were at the cabin until the last night. Cam was cooking dinner and Dani was packing, and Chance pulled a small night table on top of himself. It was light, so it scared him more than hurt him, but still he had a little bruise on the bridge of his nose to show for it. At Grandma's there was a tussle with a kitchen chair that Chance got the worse end of. Poor baby has really toughened up though as he did not cry much once in Mama's arms.

We started back home on Friday and stayed for the weekend at Meadow Lake. Our trip to Calgary was smooth until about 100 km away from home. Then Chance had had enough of the truck and no amount of cheerios could placate him. The cheerio container spilled and we had to stop to dump out the car seat. There were tears and screams for the last 45 minutes of the trip. Chance was soooo happy to be home, and he clearly was excited to see Scarlet. I'm not sure how happy Scarlet was that we had brought Chance home.

All in all, it was a great vacation. The carpet is a little scratched up...kitty was not too happy all by herself, it appears. The garden is doing not bad, the darn spinach isn't growing though. A bit of junk mail to sort through and 50 emails to read, but everything else was pretty much in order. We are glad to be home.

All tuckered out

On Friday Chance woke up quite early and it was a struggle to keep him awake until his regular nap time at 9 AM. Actually it was a losing battle. I tried shifting him around and playing with him and dancing and playing peekaboo, then I wanted to get the laundry started before he went down, so I put him in his crib with the mobile on. I could hear him playing with aquarium toy that is hanging in his crib, it makes sounds and has lights, Chance was squealing and hitting the buttons. I started the laundry and then came upstairs...and it was quiet, except for the mobile music. Chance had passed out in the crib, and his legs were sticking out, it was so cute I had to take a bunch of photos and even used the flash because I didn't want them to be blurry. He never even flinched.

I purchased a cowboy hat for Chance to wear to this year's Stampede events. It is a bit too large for him, but it only makes it look cuter. What a little buckaroo.

****Last night was the first time that Chance slept through the night! He slept from 8:30 until 5:45. I went to bed at quarter to 11, so that was 7 hours of contiguous sleep - awesome!****

This morning Cam took care of Chance while I went out for a nice bike ride in Fish Creek Park. I saw 4 male mallard ducks land right in front of me while I was taking a rest by the river. Then biked home and saw the neighbours were having a garage sale (it was only 8 AM, so I swooped in to see what they had as I figured it wouldn't be too picked over yet). I bought 2 finished wooden shelves for $5, they will be great storage in the laundry room (for the laundry soap, stain remover, baby stain remover, bleach, etc.) I nursed Chance and then headed out to see my friend Lynne at her house and enjoyed a nice morning coffee with her before coming home around noon. Daddy had managed to get Chance to eat all his carrots and cauliflower (which he LOVES, that surprised me, I thought it would be too bland for him), as well as a bunch of Cheerios.

This morning we saw Chance pull himself up to standing on the kitchen chair, and then let go and grabbed his high chair legs. Not quite cruising, but getting braver.
